I am sure you are a well informed parent, reading and studying all you can on the journey to parenthood you have begun. "Why do I need a class to teach me what I can easily read in my books or on the web", you ask? A well thought out childbirth class can help put all that information together into something you can really use when you go into labor.
Our couples class covers basic pregnancy and birth anatomy, what is happening to mom's and babies bodies to prepare for birth, signs and symptoms of each stage of labor, coping techniques for each stage of labor, how mom's labor partner can help, drafting birth plans, breastfeeding: What you should expect from a childbirth education course.
Our class is unique as it also covers couple communication and preparing the family for the changes a brand new member brings. We believe that every new member starts a new family. We will also address your fears and disprove many of the myths associated with labor and birth. Attending class is also very beneficial for your partner to learn about the processes of labor and birth, and prepare them to be an informed and confident labor support for you.
Whether you are planning a home, birth center, or hospital birth my goal is to empower you the parents to make educated choices about your pregnancy, labor, birth and hopefully set you up for successful empowered parenting. The choices are yours but you need to know the choices you have!!
